Well done to Ann on her handwriting award. She uses cursive writing and it is very neat and tidy! Keep up the great work!
Following the huge success of 'The Jungle Book' in 2017, we are delighted to announce that PETNS will be staging 'Annie' as our musical this year!
Although the show will not be until Term 3, auditions for lead roles in the musical will be taking place during school time on Friday October 19th. This is so we can get started on preparing songs and dances well in advance for rehearsals in Term 2.
If your child is in 3rd to 6th Class, we would like you to encourage them to audition as it is a valuable and beneficial opportunity. With over 30 roles to cast, there is a great chance of your child getting a role!
All names for auditions must be given to teachers by Wednesday October 17th.
We can't wait to see all the talent we know and love from the pupils in our school!
This year Powerstown ETNS area participating in “The 2018 European Week of Sport.” Physical Activity will be celebrated in our school from 24th – 28th of September!
Why are we participating?
It is important that our pupils get 60 minutes of moderate physical activity per day. Although the school day is very short, we encourage our pupils to #beactive and believe that is strongly supports their mental well-being, and therefore enables them to reach their true academic potential!
So, next week, each class will participate in daily exercises! Please ensure that your child wears runners and appropriate clothing to school.
#BeActive with Parkrun
We encourage you to #BeActive this weekend and join the local parkrun in Tyrrelstown Park (beside Le Chéile). It's a timed 2km fun run which starts at 9.30 suitable for children from 4-14 years old. Visit www.parkrun.ie/register/ to register.
We would like to invite all families to attend our celebration of Peace Day 2017 with a performance in the Assembly Hall at 9am on Friday 21st September. Classes have been preparing songs and poems and are looking forward to performing for you on Friday. See you there!2 Attachments
Our theme this month is myself. We are doing lots of different activities relating to ourselves. We have learned all about our bodies in English and as Gaeilge! We learned all about our country Ireland and where we live, Dublin! We have made our own treasure maps too! Take a look at the pictures below.
Well done Chidi for doing excellent listening in class, showing manners and being a great role model for other children!
Welcome back Rowan class. After a lovely summer we are recharged and ready to learn lots! Have a look at some of the activities we did this.
